Kathy Klingaman began her career in the banking business and working in her father’s oil and gas company, as administrator of mergers and acquisitions. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Texas State University, she spent the next five years teaching special education at several levels in South Texas. Kathy was also very active in numerous volunteer and community services organizations.
Kathy has served on many boards and committees, including the Junior League of Corpus Christi, Cattle Barons’ Ball benefitting the American Cancer Society, and the Armstrong Elementary Fundraiser. She served four years as Entertainment Chairman then General Chairman of Bayfest Corpus Christi before relocating to Dallas in 2002. She is currently a member of La Fiesta De Las Seis Banderas, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, Junior Symphony Ball and serves on the advisory board of Cattle Barons’ Ball.
Kathy is also very involved in several family businesses that include the fitness, hospitality, and energy industries. Although these are all very fulfilling activities, she is the most proud of her success in raising three beautiful daughters.
Kathy serves as president of Perch Event Décor and brings a wealth of knowledge in event planning, interior design, and entertainment.
Mary-Frances Hurt began her career in the restaurant industry, where she went from working in a fast food environment at the age of 14 to designing banquet management programs and marketing plans for major brands including CiCi's Pizza, Pappas Restaurants, and Brinker International. With years of experience in developing event guidelines for these and other companies, transitioning to the event planning industry was a natural next step. Since founding DFW Events, Inc. in 1997, the Southern Methodist University graduate’s reputation for ahead-of-the-curve creative excellence has grown her small business into the premier planning company it is today, having produced more than 1,500 events both nationally and internationally. Mary-Frances’ passion for mentoring, connecting like-minded individuals, and building authentic relationships is the driving force behind each of her business ventures, from planning five-star fêtes to creating destination development programs. Her work has appeared in national publications including Inside Weddings and Us Weekly magazine. Outside the office, she enjoys being with her three children, traveling, fishing, and yoga.
Mary-Frances serves as Vice-President of Perch Event Décor and brings more than thirty years of experience in the event planning and related businesses.
Courtney is a recent graduate from The University of Texas at Austin and joins Perch in a sales, marketing, and social media role. Her previous internships with DFW Events in Dallas and Morgan Spurlock Productions in New York City have given her a keen insight into the hospitality and entertainment business. She is very detailed, organized, and prides herself as being a “problem solver”. Courtney is an active member of The Slipper Club of Dallas and The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League. She is also a Co-Chairman for the Young Friends of Ronald McDonald House Annual party in 2018. Courtney loves music, sports and outdoor activities.
After graduating from Kansas State University in 2013, Tayler Simoneau moved to Dallas and accepted an internship at Todd Events, which ignited a passion for event planning and execution. After completing her internship, Tayler joined the Perch team in May of 2014 as lead project manager. Tayler is responsible for all client interaction and oversees the day-to-day operations of the business. In Tayler’s words “What I love most about our business is working with clients to create incredible elements that make events so memorable! I have loved building relationships with our clients, and creating friendships with others in the event industry.”
