Themed weddings—love them or hate them, they always spark a debate (especially on TikTok—proceed with caution). While some can lean into over-the-top territory, there’s a tasteful and fun way to incorporate a meaningful theme into your wedding. A custom crest with a nod to how you met, an after-party emulating your favorite restaurant, a groom’s cake that looks like your college football stadium, the list goes on. The key? Intention. Forget the fear of being “cheesy” and focus on creating an experience that feels authentic and personal. Rachel and Walker’s wedding at the Bullock Museum did just that, blending Texas-sized elegance with a modern rustic twist.

Lounging in Lone Star Plaza

Rachel and Walker chose to celebrate the Lone Star State in style and lean into the vibe of their home state and local venue, with its iconic centerpiece—a striking, larger-than-life star in the courtyard. Their lounge design struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and refined elegance, creating an inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Austin. Featuring our Kirstin Tete a tete, Wooden Bistro Table, and Charles Dining Chair, the setup blended warm, natural textures with elevated details for a look that felt both timeless and effortlessly chic. Every element was thoughtfully chosen to complement the venue’s character while maintaining an air of sophistication.

Beyond the Museum Doors

The bar design complemented the venue’s architecture while adding a bright yet neutral touch to the space. Serving as both a functional and aesthetic focal point, our Charleston Ivory Bar Facade was the perfect choice to keep a look of southern charm consistent throughout the venue. To elevate the design even further, our Gold Bamboo Shelf displayed delicate china that added an extra layer of sophistication and timeless appeal. These intentional details made the bar area both a gathering spot for guests and a beautifully integrated design element that contributed to the overarching aesthetic.

With such an eye-catching courtyard (thanks to the 35-foot tall bronze star), it was only fitting that the indoor bar design carried the same sense of grandeur upon entering the museum. A true statement piece, our Octagon Carmel Bar offers both elegance and a pop of color. Its rich blue hue provided a beautiful contrast against the museum’s neutral tones, adding depth and visual interest without overpowering the space.

Meanwhile, our Charleston Stage Facade with end columns brought the refined aesthetic from the outdoor bar into the reception space, creating a cohesive design flow throughout the venue. For Rachel and Walker’s wedding, this attention to detail reinforced the elegant yet inviting ambiance they wanted to create, ensuring that each space within the venue felt like a natural extension of the last.
